I did not even considered purchasing these, but they are the perfect ceramic women. But, I love this photo, and now, I kind of wish I’d bought them.Don’t you hate that? They remind me of my homegirl and I. She always wanted to be belle. I love the way Salvation Army styles their clothing on the wall. Damn, I miss thrifting. salvation army. illinois.

I think they resemble a little of the swan princess story line….black for when one is feeling a little moody and white for when the sun is shining and diamonds are sparkling in her eye!
This is the premiere post of a project I’ve been envisioning for the last year. I am a thrift fiend, and find myself continuously blown away by the clothing items discovered. I crave the adventure of walking into a thrift store, and unearthing something I had never even imagined existed. Besides this article of clothing being completely original and unique to my sense of style, it’s flippin cheap! (let’s brainstorm other words for cheap) Cause I don’t mean cheaply made, I mean, this angola sweata cost me 1dolla cheap. Frugal, skinflint, catchpenny, cut-rate. You get it. Inexpensive. It’s a glorious balance of want and need. The best adjective of all is… resourceful (non-wasteful.) I just can’t stop. Anyway. The idea for this project is to compile an international array of thrifted treasures! I invite fellow thrifters to submit images of their finds so we may:
1. Be privy to their whoa!MYgoodness moments.
2. Applaud the treasure-hunters eye and style.
3. Celebrate the history of fashions from the past.
This is a sister project to the Street Style Blog, http://www.whoamygoodness.blogspot.com, which I’ve been operating since Sept. 2010. I’m currently stationed in up-coming fashion capital Seoul, South Korea, but the blog also features street style from Mexico, New York City, Austin Texas,San Francisco, Kansas, and Chicago.
I’m fascinated by the way people express their identity through their clothing choices, especially when the clothing originates from varying eras and locales. We create, consume, and discard; but what is buried at the bottom of the pile?
Please participate in this celebration of the weird, wacky, wild, wonderful, whoaMYgoodness moments of thrifting culture. I look forward to seeing what you’ve found!!!!
